Research Summary Report
Quantitative Research
My quantitative research comes from online reports with statistics of prostitution, human trafficking, and sex trafficking. The Polaris Project is a website that educates on human trafficking and provides resources to anyone that is being trafficked. This website provides the most up-to-date statistics for human trafficking. Pro-Con.org also provides up-to-date stats on prostitution. Other sources I used for statistics are USAToday.com and DOsomething.org.
Qualitative research
My main source for qualitative information came from a website called "The Advocates for Human Rights". It provided a very interesting article discussing the topic of human trafficking and prostitution. How they relate to each other, how they are different, and it provides an overview of the legal responses to this. The four primary response models include criminalization, partial decriminalization (nordic model), full decriminalization, and legalization. After learning about each response, I ultimately decided that the Nordic Model was the best solution.
Another main source for qualitative research came from Covenanthouse.org. Covenant House is a nonprofit organization that helps transform and save the lives of more than a million homeless, runaway and trafficked young people. We offer housing and support services to young people in need – reaching 80,000 boys and girls every year. It provides both statistics and stories of human trafficking survivors. I used this website to learn more about the survivor stories to strengthen my argument.
Primary Research
My primary sources come from the two books "The Prostitution of Women and Girls" and "Women and Prostitution: A Social History", as well as many of the websites that provide an overview and statistics of these issues.
Secondary Research
- Youtube videos I've watched about Trafficking and prostitution.
- Pictures, graphs, infographics
- Websites that relate to the meat industry
Creative Brief:

The Nordic Model needs to be enforced here in the states. Criminalizing prostitution is detrimental to sex workers.
